Creating With Love

The silicone doll comes to me '“blank”, meaning it is all one solid color, a blank slate for me to bring to life. A talented sculptor has worked tediously to form this beautiful replica of a new baby. Much time and creativity goes into the sculpting process, and because of this, I will only ever use authentic sculpts. First, I install armatures and open the mouth if needed. Next, I use color-tinted silicone to paint many translucent layers. This creates the realistic look of veining, mottling, blushing, and very fine details. I use a combination of airbrush and hand painting which I find gives the best result. I then seal and matte the baby for silky skin and durability. After this, I root the hair using fine mohair that is meticulously placed into the head one or two hairs at a time. Hair rooting is the longest part of the process for me, but the realism it adds makes the time spent worthwhile. Creating a silicone baby is a long and very careful process that ends with a one-of-a-kind cuddly art piece. A beautiful end result that you can hold in your arms.
